Add content to your Knowledge Bank

Learn how to add and organise content in your Knowledge Bank, making information easy to store, manage, and access.

Written by Billy Dilks

The Knowledge Bank is where all your assessment content lives — your questions, standards, domains, and best practice guidance. Before you can build a question template or run an assessment, you need to populate it. This article explains how to add content to your Knowledge Bank one item at a time.

📌 Note: If you have a large amount of content to add, you can import it using a spreadsheet and AI. See the Import content into your Knowledge Bank using AI article for more information.

Add a question

To add a question to your Knowledge Bank:

  1. Click Quality Assurance in the left-hand navigation, then click Knowledge Bank.

  2. Click the Questions tab.

  3. Click Create Question.

  4. Fill in the following fields:

    • Question ID: A unique identifier for the question.

    • Question label: The question text as it will appear in the assessment.

    • Assessor notes: Any guidance notes for the assessor carrying out the assessment.

    • Help text: Additional context or guidance for the assessor.

    • Service type: The service type the question applies to.

  5. Click Save.

⚠️ Important: Make sure you tag every question with the correct service type. Every assessment is carried out at service-type level, so untagged questions won't appear in your template.

Add a standard

To add a standard to your Knowledge Bank:

  1. Click Quality Assurance in the left-hand navigation, then click Knowledge Bank.

  2. Click the Standards tab.

  3. Click Create Standard.

  4. Fill in the following fields:

    • Standard ID: A unique identifier for the standard.

    • Standard name: The name of the standard.

    • Standard label: The label as it will appear in the assessment.

    • Service type: The service type the standard applies to.

  5. Click Save.

Add a domain

To add a domain to your Knowledge Bank:

  1. Click Quality Assurance in the left-hand navigation, then click Knowledge Bank.

  2. Click the Domains tab.

  3. Click Create Domain.

  4. Fill in the following fields:

    • Domain ID: A unique identifier for the domain.

    • Domain name: The name of the domain.

    • Domain label: The label as it will appear in the assessment.

    • Service type: The service type the domain applies to.

  5. Click Save.

    Add best practice guidance

Best practice guidance gives assessors a framework to refer to when rating a question. To add best practice guidance to your Knowledge Bank:

    1. Click Quality Assurance in the left-hand navigation, then click Knowledge Bank.

    2. Click the Best Practice Guidance tab.

    3. Click Create Best Practice Guidance.

    4. Fill in the details and link the guidance to the relevant question.

    5. Click Save.

🤓 Tip: Adding detailed best practice guidance helps assessors apply ratings consistently across your team, especially when several assessors are contributing to the same assessment.
